This viral nuclear protein is essential for EBV mediated positive immunoblastic lymphomas, and functions as a transcription factor. Function: Plays an essential role for the activation and mmortalization of human B-cells. Represses transcription of viral romoters TP1 and Cp through interaction with host RBPJ, and nhibits EBNA2-mediated activation of these贰叠病毒核抗原-3颁抗体 promoters. Since Cp is he promoter for all EBNA mRNAs, EBNA6 probably contributes to a egative autoregulatory control loop.
